If you want proof that 2013 was one of the hottest years ever, consider how many hunks took off their shirts on screen, on social media and in real life! From Henry Cavill to Harry Styles, here are the 13 hottest moments of gratuitous male toplessness in 2013.
Superhero films have always demanded that their stars be in peak physical fitness, but Henry Cavill literally turned himself into a Man of Steel. How do we know? Well director Zac Snyder had Cavill run across a hill shirtless just so we could see for ourselves!
The trend of shirtless male heroes continued in 2013 in films like Pacific Rim, where our first look at Charlie Hunnam's Raleigh Becket was a view of him without his shirt. And based on Chris Pratt's famous "Chunk to Hunk" post-workout Instagram selfie, it looks like 2014 is going to continue to be filled with more hot (topless?) superheroes.
Of course, 2013 saw other major trends in male toplessness. The post-workout selfie took off in popularity. So much so that Drake closed the year by snapping a pic of his new tight torso. Justin Bieber, Zac Efron and Nick Jonas all took off their shirts to let us know that they weren't boys anymore; they were hot and bothered men. And we're not quite sure if we're going to see Pompeii or That Awkward Moment in 2014, but we do know that we've freeze framed their trailers on YouTube for better looks at Kit Harington and Michael B. Jordan's respective abs.
2013 was indeed a good year for male toplessness, and if these trends continue, 2014 looks to be even better.
