Hollywood is reeling from the loss of another comedic legend today.
Acclaimed comedian, filmmaker and philanthropist, Jerry Lewis, has passed away from natural causes at the age of 91.
Lewis gained notoriety for his comedy and music act alongside Dean Martin during the mid 1950's. He began hosting "Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon," where he raised over $1.7 billion for muscular dystrophy, from 1966 until 2011. In 2008 alone, Lewis' 2 1/2 hour telethon raised a whopping $65 million.
A survivor of prostate cancer and open heart surgery, Lewis is survived by his six children. We're sending condolences to his family as we'll miss this irreplaceable comedic icon.
