Rita Ora blazed a trail right to the Trailblazer Honors stage and then burned the whole place down with her moving performance of "Soul Survivor." Ora's powerful anthem “Soul Survivor,” is from her latest studio album Phoenix, and it certainly set the tone for a night of honoring amazing, trailblazing women who have made their mark on politics, film, music and more regardless of how many people told them that it was impossible.
Ora sings, "I'm a soul survivor/I made it through the fire/I started with nothing/I've got nothing to lose." Her song is such a beautiful reminder that anything is possible if you, first and foremost, believe in yourself.
Among the other "Soul Survivors" being honored at this year's awards were House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Academy Award nominated filmmaker Ava DuVernay, The Handmaid’s Tale author Margaret Atwood and #MeToo founder Tarana Burke. What a way to celebrate International Woman's Day!
