6 Ways Every Reality Show Is Connected To 'The Hills'
Three years ago this week, fans said goodbye to The Hills as Kristin Cavallari and Brody Jenner decided to go their separate ways, leaving us wondering what we would do fill the void. Little did we know that Lauren Conrad and the gang would always be in our hearts and on television. The show turned out to be the epicenter of reality. Cast members and extras went on to star in their own shows and influence programming on all major networks. In fact, after extensive research, we have demonstrated here that almost all of our favorite reality shows can be traced back to The Hills. Everything from So You Think You Can Dance to Top Chef is connected the show. Check out our attempt to weave together the world of reality through six degrees of separation.

How It Works. A show is connected to another one if a person has appeared on both shows. However, we limited judging appearances to the same seasons. For example: Kristin Cavallari and La Toya Jackson both appeared on the same season of RuPaul's Drag Race.
The First Degree. The Hills is the first degree and connected to other shows through stars that have appeared on that show. The bolded names (Lauren, Audrina, etc.) start a new path.
6+ Degrees. For fun, we went further than six degrees to get as many of the obscure shows as we could. Just roll with it.
The Most Connected. Thanks to their many, many seasons, almost all roads lead to America's Next Top Model, Celebrity Apprentice, Dancing With the Stars and surprisingly enough, RuPaul's Drag Race.
Oscar Power. If we played pure 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon, we can trace Anne Hathaway to Lauren Conrad. Ready? Lauren Conrad was on The Hills with Whitney Port who worked for Diane von Furstenberg on The City who appeared on The Rachel Zoe Project with Rachel Zoe who dressed Oscar-winner, Anne Hathaway.
