Amanda Bynes Turns 27, So Let's Look Back At Her 10 Most Outrageous Moments From The Last Year

Today Amanda Bynes turns 27 years old, and let's hope it goes better than age 26! Just several days after her birthday last year, Bynes life turned into a rollercoaster ride round the tabloids, a journey fraught with insane traffic offenses, Twitter mayhem and erratic public behavior. It's gotten to the point where we kind of wonder if it's a Joaquin Phoenix-like piece of performance art. That's the only way to truly explain her outrageous antics lately. In honor of turning another year older (and hopefully wiser), let's take a look back at her crazy year.

10. Crashes Her Car...Into A Cop Cruiser..While Apparently Under The Influence

Just a matter of days after her 26th birthday last year, Amanda Bynes was arrested for driving under the influence after she crashed her car into a car. But not just any car. A cop's car. The former Nickelodeon star was pulled over at 3 AM in West Hollywood after her attempts to pass a cruise ended in collision. She was given a field sobriety test and found “not fit to be behind the wheel.” She was held on $5,000 bail before being released. She had been seen leaving an LA club on St. Patrick's Day a few weeks earlier looking pretty worse for the wear, and she also drove off when a cop was writing her a ticket a week before that. But this incident seemed to set the tone for the next year, as well as show off her lilac colored hair.

9. Teaches Us Why We Don't Text And Drive

Yet about a week later, Bynes was seen running over the sidewalk outside of a club as she was texting.

8. SOS Obama!

Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end,” she wrote. Let's hope he follows her.

7. More Motor Madness

Amanda got into yet another car accident in August when her rental car was rear-ended, allegedly as a result of her wreckless driving. This brought her personal score to 1 DUI, 3 hit-and-runs, 1 flee from police (and a partridge in a pear tree). Ouch. Then when she risked road travel again, she was pulled over for NOT PUTTING HER HEADLIGHTS ON, exposing her suspended license. And finally, her car got impounded by cops. Adding insult to injury, even Lindsay Lohan tweeted a diss!

6. Smoking In A Home Depot Parking Lot

Apparently deciding to push her luck even further, Bynes took a day in September to do a three hour driving tour of LA...with a suspended license. The aimless wandering took her to a Baja Fresh, and a Home Depot parking lot, where she took hits out of a pipe designed to look like a car lighter. The real question is: What the hell did she need a Home Depot?

5. Locks Herself In A Store Fitting Room

Bynes ventured into the Hollywood clothing store Kin in September, and vanished into a changing room for a whole hour and 45 minutes. The staff grew concerned when they just heard the sound of banging on the walls of the room. “I was so worried about her. I didn’t know what she was doing in [the dressing room]. I didn’t know if she was overdosing, or doing drugs or what,” said an employee. Any attempts to get her out were met with her insistence that she "needed more time." Unless she brought the entire contents of the store in there, we'd say 105 minutes is more than enough time.

4. Management Team Abandons Ship

The actress’ publicist, agent and lawyer have all dropped her as a client in the space of a few weeks. Apparently Bynes stonewalled them all for a month, refusing to return their calls, and eventually they gave up.

3. Might Have Wandered Around A Tanning Salon Naked...

...but DON'T let her hear you talking about it! Bynes apparently sought legal action against In Touch magazine for publishing a story claiming she strutted her stuff in nothing but tanning goggles for over an hour. "I’m suing In Touch for printing a fake story," she said to Us Weekly. “I’m not ‘troubled.’ I don’t get naked in public.”

Amanda showed off her "edgy" guidette-esque look on Twitter, featuring heavy makeup and pierced cheeks. It was definitely a jump from her squeaky clean blonde image we remember.
